Professor Seungyoung Ahn received the Technical Achievement Award at the 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility & Signal/Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI), held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, from August 5 to 9, 2024. He was recognized for his contribution to “Understanding and reducing EMF/EMI in wireless power transfer systems.”

Professor Seungyoung Ahn of the KAIST CCS Graduate School of Mobility was honored with the Technical Achievement Award at the 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility & Signal/Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI).

This symposium, held from August 5 to 9 in Phoenix, Arizona, is an international conference organized annually by the IEEE. It is focused on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), signal integrity (SI), and power integrity (PI), and attracts leading universities and companies from around the world.

Professor Ahn has conducted extensive research on wireless power transfer (WPT) systems used in various applications, such as electric vehicles, drones, defense, and miniature medical devices, and on reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by these systems. In addition, he has actively worked on reducing human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) in WPT systems and has contributed to international standardization activities on EMI measurement methods. These contributions led to his selection as the awardee in the category of “Understanding and reducing EMF/EMI in wireless power transfer systems.
