Scholarship Types
Government-sponsored Scholarship: The Government-sponsored scholarship which is the most common scholarship in KAIST, Korean government supports the educational expenses. It must be applied at the time of admission. It is not possible to change the status from KAIST sholarship or General scholarship to the Government-sponsored scholarship. Students who were selected as Government-sponsored scholarship receive monthly salary of teaching assistance activities during semesters.
KAIST Scholarship:KAIST Scholarship is a case of receiving the support of educational expenses under the discretion of a professor.
KAIST Scholarship:KAIST Scholarship is a case of receiving the support of educational expenses under the discretion of a professor.
- If KAIST scholarship student's educational expenses are supported by the supervisor's research expense, student's major may be limited depending on the supervisor's major.
General Scholarship: There is a scholarship program that receive the support of educational expenses from the company not in collaboration with KAIST. It is also called industry-university scholarship. In this scholarship, students receive the monthly salary and the amount of money for tution partically. Some students have an appointment with the company already, or other students(more than two semesters) may get this scholarship through the interview of the company after admission in the status of other scholarship. After graduation, there is a duty working in the company for a promised period.
※ Student will be classified into one of scholarship types determined by KAIST. Please note that depending on the number of students in the research area and scholarship types, you may be recommended to your 2nd or 3rd preference.
