Seongmin Lee, an M.S. student in Prof. Gibeom Park’s TETRIS Lab, received the Excellent Paper Award at the 2026 Power Electronics Conference hosted by the Korean Institute of Power Electronics (KIPE).

The conference brings together researchers from academia and industry to present recent advances across the field of power electronics.

The awarded paper is titled “Electromagnetic-Thermal Coupled Analysis and Operating Temperature Analysis of a Forward Converter Considering the Space Environment,” co-authored by Seongmin Lee, Ph.D. student Jiho Kwak, and Prof. Gibeom Park. In space, convective cooling is limited and thermal conditions are extreme, so accurately predicting heat generation in power converters is important. The study is meaningful in that it analyzes the operating temperature of a forward converter through a coupled analysis of its electromagnetic and thermal characteristics. It is expected to contribute to improving the reliability of power electronics systems for space and aerospace mobility.

Congratulations to Seongmin Lee and the members of the TETRIS Lab on this achievement.
