Dongju Shin, a Ph.D. candidate in SDL, received the Best Paper Award from the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The awarded paper, “Development of a Generative Design Method for Cross-Sectional Geometry of Vehicle Battery Pack Case–Body Connections,” presents a generative design approach for the cross-sectional design of structural connections between a vehicle battery pack case and the vehicle body. The work was recognized for proposing a design method that considers both structural performance and design efficiency in vehicle structural design.
